Wellness Exams

Wellness care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy and happy throughout life. Whether you have a cat or dog, it’s important to provide your pet with regular veterinary examinations and preventative treatments designed to safeguard his or her longevity and wellbeing.

What Is a Pet Wellness Exam?

A wellness appointment for a pet is a veterinary appointment scheduled on a regular basis (usually annually or bi-annually). We encourage wellness examinations for monitoring your pet’s health while also providing preventative care services.

What to Expect During Your Pet's Wellness Appointment

Physical Examination and Health Screening

Your pet’s wellness appointment will begin with a whiskers-to-tail physical examination. We’ll take a temperature, listen to your pet’s heart and lungs, and make a record of your pet’s baseline health and appearance. A physical examination not only allows us to detect health problems that are currently occurring, but also makes it much easier to spot signs of problems if they develop in the future.
Depending on your pet’s age, condition, and medical history, we might also recommend a general health screening with a blood test, urinalysis, fecal test, and/or other diagnostic exams.

Preventative Care

Our veterinarian will ensure your pet’s vaccinations are current and discuss parasite control/prevention with you.

Nutritional Counseling, Lifestyle Recommendations, and Expert Advice

We’ll help you select the right food, treats, supplements, toys, and training methods for your pet. Our veterinarian will be available to answer any questions you might have about your pet’s care.
